IAM Local 1005 is a long‑standing Machinists Union local in Portland, Oregon, representing a diverse group of skilled workers across manufacturing, public sector, and industrial trades. Local 1005 focuses on securing fair wages, safe working conditions, and solid benefits through collective action and contract enforcement. The local plays a central role in regional labor advocacy, supporting community service efforts, and cross‑local solidarity within District W24.
